Defining the Boundaries
McDowell Mountain Ranch real estate is a great place for families and those that enjoy an active lifestyle. The 3,200-acre master planned North Scottsdale community is located at the base of the McDowell Mountains, the source of beautiful mountain views enjoyed by many residents. Homes that are built higher along the mountain are also treated to the amazing views of the city lights.
Development in this area started in 1998 and now has approximately 4,000 homes with 26 neighborhoods and counting. Some that are either gated or guard-gated and housing options include apartments, condominiums, patio homes, single-family detached homes and custom homes. There is a wide range from starter homes, turn-key homes and luxurious estates found on golf lots. Homes range in size between approximately 1,050 square feet to over 4,000 square feet, with both single-level and multi-level options available.
Walking distance from the community is the McDowell Mountain Aquatic Center and Skate Park. Residents can relax in the 600-foot lazy river, take laps in one of the eight-lap pools, experience the large tube water slide or skateboard at the 16,000 square foot skate park. Just down the road is the Horizon Park and Community Park that offers baseball fields, volleyball courts, tennis courts and an off-leash dog park. The community center offers after-school programs and summer camps for younger children, as well as teenagers.
Outdoor Opportunities Await!
Residents have access to 40 miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding, available at the McDowell Mountain Regional Park. The community also has access to multiple trailheads that lead into the McDowell Sonoran Preserve, which has 120 miles of non-motorized multi-use trails. For those who enjoy golf, the McDowell Mountain Golf Club has a premier public golf course that was originally designed by Randy Heckenkemper and Phil Mickelson.
